Exploring the Causes and Treatments of Breast Cancer

Breast cancer is a type of cancer that develops in breast cells. It typically manifests in the form of either lobules or ducts within the breast.

Kinds of breast cancer

  1. Invasive Ductal Carcinoma
  2. Invasive Lobular Carcinoma
  3. Ductal Carcinoma in Situ
  4. Lobular Carcinoma in Situ

Invasive Ductal Carcinoma

Cancer cells start growing in the ducts and then spread outside the ducts to other parts.

Invasive Lobular Carcinoma

Cancer cells initiate growth in the lobules and subsequently spread throughout the breast tissue.

Ductal Carcinoma In Situ

Cancer cells are in their initial stages, starting within the ducts.

Lobular Carcinoma In Situ

Cancer cells are at their starting point within the lobules.

Symptoms of Breast Cancer

  • The breast may develop lumps or thicken.
  • You may notice changes in breast size and other factors.
  • Pigmentation changes may occur around the nipple.
  • Changes in color may be observed.
  • There may be blood or other discharges from the breast.
  • Slight discomfort or pain can be experienced.
  • The breast area might become irritable.

Causes of breast cancer

When some abnormal cells grow in the breast, this is the main cause or symptom of breast cancer. The main cause of breast cancer is a gene passed from generation to generation in a family. Environmental factors are also responsible for causing breast cancer. As doctors estimate, more than 5 to 10 percent of breast cancers are caused by genes.

If anyone’s family is affected by breast cancer, they have to check or always test their blood.

  • Surgery: operation.
  • Chemotherapy: shrink or kill the cancer cells.
  • Hormonal therapy: block cells from growing hormones
  • Biological therapy: works with the immune system to fight cancer cells.
  • Radiation therapy: high-energy rays kill cancer cells.

Breast cancer prevention

As suggested by your doctor, prevention measures take steps.

If you feel any unusual activity in your breast, meet your doctor as soon as possible.

How to diagnose breast cancer

Some tests help you detect your breast cancer issue.

  • Mammogram
  • Ultrasound
  • Mammogram: a common test to check your breast surface with some tools called a mammogram.
  • Ultrasound: picture of your deep-cell breast tissues.

Breast cancer stages

  • Stage 0 breast cancer
Only in ducts, not near tissue.
  • Stage 1 breast cancer
Stage 1A: the lymph does not affect.
Stage 1B: the tumor is small, 2 cm.
  • Stage 2 breast cancer
Stage 2A: 1 to 3 nearby lymph nodes
    Stage 2B: 2  and 5 cm
  • Stage 3 breast cancer
    Stage 3A: 4 to 9 auxiliary lymph
Stage 3B: chest wall and skin
Stage 3c: 10 or more auxiliary
  • Stage 4 breast cancer
    Cancer is spreading all over.

The stage of cancer is determined only by your doctor.
