Flipkart Launches UPI Service in Partnership With Axis Bank to Counter Third-Party Apps

Flipkart Launches UPI Service in Partnership With Axis Bank to Counter Third-Party Apps: In partnership with Axis Bank, Flipkart introduced the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) service. Users of Android devices will be able to utilize the Flipkart UPI service to make payments both online and offline at first. Customers may now use the Flipkart app to pay bills and transfer money immediately after the most recent update. Other well-known third-party UPI apps like Paytm, PhonePe, Google Pay, and Amazon Pay would-be competitors to Flipkart UPI.

On Sunday, March 3, Flipkart’s own UPI handle was launched, as revealed by Rajneesh Kumar, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Flipkart India, on X. As previously indicated, the feature is now exclusive to Android users and is the result of Flipkart’s partnership with Axis Bank. Using the Flipkart app, customers can register for the Flipkart UPI service and use the @fkaxis handle for their digital transactions.

You can pay for any goods or services, recharge, and bill payments with the Flipkart UPI service. By scanning QR codes, it can also be used to make payments outside of the Flipkart marketplace. Supercoins, cashback, and vouchers for Flipkart UPI transactions are just a few of the perks that Flipkart is providing. On their first five scan and pay transactions, users can receive 10 supercoins with a minimum payment of Rs. 100. In a similar vein, the Walmart-backed online retailer is providing a flat Rs. 25 discount on the first Flipkart purchase.

Flipkart Launches UPI Service in Partnership:

By selecting the Scan and Pay option under My UPI in the Flipkart Android app, interested customers can activate Flipkart UPI. Flipkart will initiate the Flipkart UPI service and send an SMS to confirm the information after the bank selection.

Flipkart, which says it has over 50 crore registered customers on its marketplace, will be able to rely less on outside UPI services like Paytm, PhonePe, Google Pay, and Amazon Pay with the launch of its own UPI account. The launch of Flipkart UPI coincides with a fine of Rs. 5.49 crore levied by India’s Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) against Paytm Payments Bank, the company’s banking division, for allegedly engaging in money laundering.
