This comes after the October introduction of Nothing OS 2.5 Open Beta 1. The firm has improved functionality, such as an enhanced Glyph Interface, with Open Beta 2. The upgrade based on Android 14 also includes a number of new widgets. Since there is no warning that this beta release may affect the phone’s functionality or data, users are advised to make a backup of all their crucial information. Users can also revert to Nothing OS 2.0.4 from this beta version, according to the company.

The Glyph Interface has been updated with a new Glyph animation when NFC is used, a Glyph Timer that now supports time presets and can be opened straight from the lock screen, and Glyph Progress integration for Google Calendar. In addition, a new media widget is included that lets users browse through podcasts or music from various media players. Nothing Phone 2 Users Get Nothing OS 2.5 Open Beta 2 Update
To obtain the beta installer app, users of the Nothing Phone 2 must download the Nothing OS Beta tool APK file (link provided on the Community page). After that, they can navigate to Settings > System > Update to Beta Version, select Check for New Version, and finish the procedure by following the prompts on the screen.
Nothing has hinted at the Nothing OS 3, which is expected to have significant enhancements over the existing OS, in a Community update video. It might launch in the first half of 2024 and is anticipated to be based on Android 14. But the business hasn’t yet disclosed when the Nothing OS 3 will launch.
