electric quad bike : Nearly a year after the quad bikes didn’t pass American safety standards, Tesla launched its electric quad bike for kids in China to great success. The Cyberquad: On July 14, the Elon Musk-run business started selling the toy cars inspired by Cybertruck. Aimed at 8 to 12-year-old children, the Cyberquad rapidly sold out on Tesla’s website for a price of 11,990 yuan (about $1,670).
The Cyberquad has an 8-mile range, a top speed of 5 mph, a maximum load of 110 pounds, and a battery life of 1.5 hours. It is powered by lithium-ion batteries.
Failure in the US: After being revealed in 2019 during a Cybertruck reveal event, the Cyberquad immediately sold out when it was released in the US in December 2021. Tesla sold about 5,000 units at a price of $1,900.

The Cyberquad was marketed as a toy, but it actually met the legal definition of a “youth ATV” in the United States, exposing it to safety requirements that the Radio Flyer-made version that was sold did not. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) subsequently announced a recall in October 2022.
The CPSC stated that the recall was being made in a statement that read, “These ATV safety standards are in place to reduce crash and injury hazards, preventing serious injury or death.”
